Kids, Calves, Craziness

Took 60 kids to the rodeo last night because of a generous corporate sponsor made it happen.  They let the kids talk with the cowboys, gave them all T-shirts, took pictures, fed them, and then had 20 of them participate in a calf scramble.  The kids had a blast, my staff and I probably needed something strong to drink afterwards, but best of all, everyone had a good time.

I am pretty sure I had to explain to at least five kids why horses poop whenever they want and why the participants really weren’t that upset about it.  Probably spent even more time in discussions about the smell of manure at a rodeo and yes, that was exactly what they thought it was and no, it wasn’t going to hurt them if they smelled it too long.

It was a good night but I have to say I was plenty happy when we loaded everyone back up on the vans and headed home.

I guess learning about the ins and outs of horse poop is a good idea. Always a commendable skill to possess.
